Thread & Chill (work in progress) workshop

Welcome! Want to start a personal sewing project or finish a sewing project but need some guidance how to properly do it to get a professional finish? For example sewing a zipper in, making a button-hole, bind a quilt, how to upcycle a shirt, sew stretchy fabrics, etc.

What is included in the workshop?

  • Use of our tables, sewing machines, 1034D brother sergers, cover stitch machine, cricut-like machine (for paper crafts), fabric scissors, sewing tools, sewing thread, etc. We have scrap fabrics, but not providing any fabrics, zippers, or any sewing notions that you’ll need in your project.

  • You will bring in all materials that is needed to make your project.

  • Hands-on instructions, everyone will be working on different projects

  • This is NOT for embroidery, crochet/knitting. pattern-making projects (we have specific workshops for those)

  • This is not a learn to thread your machine (please take machine basics workshop), please do not bring in your own machine and ask for help threading it (please book a private lesson)

  • Yes, you can totally upcycle things in this workshop and get help on it!

  • Please don’t expect to finish your whole project in one workshop, it is 3 hours each. Small goals like putting in a zipper, finishing a hem, etc are achievable.

Class Format:

  • Hands-on practice with step-by-step guidance

  • Small class sizes to ensure personalized attention (cap at 6 students)

  • Friendly and supportive atmosphere for all skill levels

Taught by Van and assistant (if over 5 students)
