Founder: Van Tran

With over 20 years of sewing experience and a decade spent teaching both kids and adults, I combine my background as a former dedicated high school teacher/fashion designer with my degree in apparel design to expertly guide people of all ages through the wonderful art of sewing. I currently live in New York with my beloved dog, Lulu, and together we enjoy a vibrant and creative lifestyle. Here, I share my passion for sewing in a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment that encourages creativity, learning, and the joy of making something truly special by hand.

SEW SUSTAINABLE

You might know me as the girl who upcycles her thrifted dresses and shows you step by step on Instagram: sewiminivan. But my love of upcycling goes beyond that. I didn’t want to be another place where you learn to sew. While setting up The Sewing Clubhouse, I incorporated a lot of pieces of furniture from secondhand places such as Facebook market and getting materials (all fabrics) donated/purchase secondhand from places like FabScrap, Poshmark, Ebay, thrift shops.

The goal is to learn to sew and have fun doing it, let’s add the sustainable part to it.
