Sewing Beginner Workshop
Welcome! This beginner class is designed to teach you all the basic essential skills and techniques to get started sewing and perfect for anyone who just wants to make a custom Japanese Knot Bag for someone! Also as a cute statement bag for those summer weddings!
What You’ll Learn:
Understanding your sewing machine (no threading, only learn how to use it)
Essential sewing tools and learn some fabrication
Basic stitches: straight stitch, backstitch
How to sew a small item (they are trickier than a bigger bag).
How to iron (lots of ironing practice)
How to add fringe/trim
Tips on troubleshooting common sewing machine problems
You will make a Japanese Knot Bag that will be lined and optional to make a mini or a regular size. Pick from lots of different fabrics (satin, sateen, cotton) and different types of trim (fringe, bead fringe. Please note we use high-quality materials and you would be saving money from taking our class and come out with a beautiful made bag.
Class Format:
Hands-on practice with step-by-step guidance
Small class sizes to ensure personalized attention (cap at 6 students)
Friendly and supportive atmosphere for all skill levels
This is a one-time workshop for 3 hours
Taught by Van and assistant (if over 4 students)
