


Sewing Beginner Workshop (Make PJ/Lounge Shorts) (3 HRS)
Sewing 101 Beginner “Sew Sweet, Sew Short” Workshop (will offer this workshop every other Tuesdays)
Welcome! The perfect place to start your sewing journey! This beginner class is designed to teach you all the basic essential skills and techniques to get started sewing.
Workshop Details:
6:15pm-9:30pm (this is perfect for anyone just new to sewing, have some sewing basics, or just want to make a cool gift for someone this holiday season!)
located at the LIC Art Center: 44-02 23rd Street #210 (2nd floor), 11101
What You’ll Learn:
Understanding your sewing machine: How to thread your machine and use it. (optional to participate, will do this lesson after making shorts)
Essential sewing tools and fabrics
Basic stitches: straight stitch, zigzag stitch, backstitch
Sewing seams and finishing edges
Tips on troubleshooting common sewing machine problems
You will make elastic pj/lounge shorts using sustainable cotton/flannel fabrics (Donated/secondhand: still brand new)
Make any size (to ensure everyone finishes in one workshop, we ask you to provide a couple of measurements beforehand to get your pattern pre-ready)
Class Format:
Hands-on practice with step-by-step guidance
Small class sizes to ensure personalized attention (cap at 6 students)
Friendly and supportive atmosphere for all skill levels
By the end of Sewing 101 clothing, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to get started sewing. This is a one-time workshop for 3 hours
Taught by Van and assistant (if over 4 students)
