














Sew It Begins 101: 4 classes OR 1 full day
Sew It Begins. We offer options of (4 classes/3 hours each) or 1 full day (8 hours with lunch in between)
Welcome! The perfect place to start your sewing journey! This beginner class is designed to teach you all the basic essential skills and techniques to get started sewing bags & garments.
Who is it for:
Someone who is completely new to sewing or have taking a sewing class before but remembers nothing and needs a recap of sewing.
someone who wants to learn how to sew their own clothes but have taking a basic sewing class such as our machine basics class. You will be making a zippered pouch in the first class, so it will be a new project.
What You’ll Learn:
Understanding your sewing machine: How to thread your machine and use it.
Essential sewing tools and fabrics
Basic stitches: straight stitch, zigzag stitch, backstitch
Sewing seams and finishing edges
Tips on troubleshooting common sewing machine problems
How to take measurements
Understand grainlines and pattern terminology
You will make a zippered pouch in the first class/hour and move on learning how to read, cut, and sew from a commercial pattern from our selection such as a skirt (pencil or flare), elastic lounge pant/shorts, or pullover hoodie
Materials: All provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own!
If desired to make and want to bring your own materials:
-Zippered skirt (2-3 yards (depends how long you want to make it):
-Elastic Lounge pant: 3 yards needed OR shorts 2 yards needed
-Pullover hoodie: 3 yards: Ponte knit, medium weight french terry, stretch fleece, sweatshirt material (this option is only for the 4 week series)
Class Format:
Hands-on practice with step-by-step guidance
Small class sizes to ensure personalized attention (cap at 6 students)
Friendly and supportive atmosphere for all skill levels
By the end of Sew It Begins 101, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to get started sewing!
