DATES: (SEPT 11TH AND SEPT 18TH) THURSDAYS NIGHTS
Time: 6:30PM-8:30PM
Length: 2 hours
Class Size: 4 people (so everyone gets hands-on help and their own machine)
Location: LIC ART CENTER 44-02 23RD STREET STE 210, QUEENS 11101 (court square train station E, M, 7, G)
Free street parking available all around
Cost: $150 FOR BOTH WORKSHOP DAYS (tax applicable)
Age Requirement: Adults (18+)
Hands-on instruction from an experienced sewing teacher: Van (over 15 years of experience with sergers/making clothes)
Practice fabric and thread provided
Step-by-step handouts to take home
Finished sample swatches for reference
Beginners who have never used a serger before
Sewists who own a serger but feel intimidated by threading and setup
Anyone wanting to add professional finishing techniques to their sewing
BROTHER 1034D AND SINGER FINISHING TOUCH (Both are similar styles to many serger models, once you understand how a serger works, you’ll be able to conquer any serger models you wish to get in the future or already have)
Do I need to own a serger?
No — we provide them (look at images of models we offer)
Do I need sewing experience?
Basic knowledge of sewing is helpful, but not required. Beginners are welcome!
Will I finish a project in this class?
This workshop is focused on learning techniques. You’ll create sample swatches you can keep for reference when using your serger at home.
Must give a 3-day cancellation notice for a full refund.
We will start on time or 5-10 minutes if multiple people are late and no refunds if a class is missed or make-up classes for this workshop. Please make sure you can commit to attend the dates posted.
